EDWARD DENNIS QUINN, of Naples, FL and
Raleigh, NC, formerly of Hunker, PA, passed
away Monday, July 7, 2003 at Duke Medical Center in Durham, North
Carolina. Ed was born January 2, 1937 in Greensburg, PA to the late
Henry Francis and Irene McArdle Quinn. A graduate of Greensburg High
School, Class of 1954, and Duquesne University, Class of 1960, he
worked as a Senior Executive Pharmaceutical Representative for
Burroughs Wellcome Co., retiring after 34 years of service.
Ed is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jane Porter Quinn
"Knutie"; a son, Brian and his wife, Ginger of Little Rock, AR; a
son, Kevin of Raleigh, NC; a daughter, Erin McCord and her husband,
Chase of Raleigh, NC; a sister, Mary Catherine Quinn of Greensburg,
PA; five grandchildren, Caitlin, Garrett and Virginia Quinn, all of
Little Rock, Arkansas, Molly and Chase William McCord, both of
Raleigh, North Carolina; nieces Mary Anne Gallagher, and Susan Kilby, and her children, Tyler
and Allison.
He was predeceased by a brother, Bill, and a sister, Helen, in
1969.
Ed lived life to the fullest, treasuring time with his family and
friends. He was a devoted husband, caring father, and loving
grandfather. A proud Irishman who loyally supported the University of
Notre Dame, he was blessed with a warm personality, engaging sense of
humor, and talkative spirit that endeared him to everyone. In addition
to his family and many friends, his passions included traveling
throughout the West in his motor home, Notre Dame football and
basketball, and watching old movies. He will be missed by all of us who
loved him.
A Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m., Friday, July 11, St.
Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 11401 Leesville Road, Raleigh. The
family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
