In June, 2002, Synad Corporation introduced it's first product, the Mercury5G , a two chip, dual band IEEE 802.11a/b/g WLAN solution including a radio-chip (SYRF8100), modem/MAC-chip (SYBB8200), along with Microsoft Windows drivers, protocol software, a developers kit and reference designs.
Synad states that the Mercury5G will enable its customers to create a dual band solution, compatible with the IEEE 802.11a/b/g standard , for comparable cost to a single band solution. It utilizes an 0.18-micron CMOS manufacturing process.
The Mercury5G, is targeted for use in access points, client network cards and gateway products.
